contribution to Design As Writing publication on the theme of GRID
text introducting my contribution:
“I approach the topic of the grid from different, at times contradictory, sides, both of which are connected to my personal experience of simultaneously challenging and craving the grid.
The following six pages explore the various metaphorical as well as literal meanings and visual representations of the word. I also reflect on the different values attached to the grid and what it symbolizes. What happens when the queer rejection of the grid collides with autism's rigidity and need for order? How to find balance and negotiate when the things my disability requires are the very things we try to dismantle?

The repeated grid page, together with the line of text in three languages, is a scan of a page included in paper mail from HUS (part of Finnish healthcare). The title of my project borrows the wording from the scanned page.
